The Technical Indicators, Defined
The price-based half of the signal, in plain terms.
Momentum and trend
- RSI (14) — speed and magnitude of moves; above 70 overbought, below 30 oversold.
- MACD (12,26,9) — trend and momentum; line crossing its signal is the classic trigger.
- Stochastics (14,3) — close relative to range; flags overbought/oversold reversals.
- ADX (14) — trend strength (not direction); above 25 signals a strong trend.
Structure and volatility
- Moving averages (20/50/200) — trend backbone; golden and death crosses matter.
- Bollinger Bands (20) — a moving average with volatility bands; tags of the bands flag stretch.
Use them as confirmation
No single indicator is decisive. Their value in the signal is confluence: several pointing the same way, ideally alongside the options read.
